Peterson’s Popular Men’s Health Event Returns

KERRVILLE – June is Men’s Health Month and Peterson  Health joins other health care providers, public policy makers, and organizations in the effort to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of health issues relevant to men. For the seventh year in a row, Peterson Health will host a 2-hour educational session geared toward  men but it is open to both men and women interested in the hottest topics related to men’s health. Physicians will be speaking and answering questions on important health topics and explaining how these topics impact men.

“The Men’s Event” will be held on Tuesday, June 26th, from 5:30-7:30pm at the main hospital, Peterson Regional Medical Center, on the 2nd floor in Classroom A. The hospital is located at 551 Hill Country Drive in Kerrville. A light meal will be provided at 4:30pm in the hospital cafeteria then presentations start at 5:30pm.

Peterson Health is extremely grateful for the physicians who have donated their time and expertise to make this event possible. The 2018 presenters are as follows:

  • James Johnson, MD, FACS, General Surgeon – “Advantages of Advanced Laparoscopy in Kerrville”
  • John Nelson, MD, Urologist – “Urinary Disease/Benign Prostate”
  • Ernesto Hernandez, MD, Hospitalist with Sound Physicians – “Men’s Health – What You Need to Know to Live Longer, Healthier Life”

Lisa Winters, Director of Marketing and Community Relations, says that although the event was created with men in mind, a spouse, friend, or family member is also welcome to attend. Adds Winters, “Women have a great influence over the family’s healthcare. This annual event provides great information for both men and women interested in the latest trends in men’s health and ready to learn about the great services and resources our area physicians have to offer.”

The Men’s Event is free and includes a light dinner and event souvenir. Dinner service will start at 4:30pm on the first floor in the hospital cafeteria. Seating is limited so pre-registration is required.
