Peterson Regional Medical Center Earns Triple Gold

Hospital, Total Hip and Total Knee Accreditation from the Joint Commission

Kerrville, TX – Peterson Regional Medical Center (PRMC) has earned three Joint Commission Gold Seal’s of Approval® for accreditation for demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals and two more for their ‘Back to Life’ Total Knee and Total Hip Replacement Program. The hospital accreditation award recognizes Peterson’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards and the gold seals for total knee and total hip recognizes Peterson’s compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.

In May 2013, Peterson underwent a rigorous unannounced on-site survey. A team of six Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated Peterson for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

Just few weeks later, on June 20th, Peterson repeated another rigorous on-site review for Disease-Specific Care Certification from The Joint Commission. A Joint Commission expert evaluated Peterson for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of families and patients undergoing total hip or total knee replacements, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management. Peterson’s ‘Back to Life‘ Program, at the first attempt was awarded the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for both Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement on the first attempt.
