Peterson Health Named Top 20 Rural and Community Hospital
Kerrville, TX – Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas was recently named one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country.
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) has announced the 20 highest-ranked prospective payment system hospitals in the country based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. The hospitals are identified using the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, the most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural PPS hospital performance. These hospitals will be recognized May 21 during NRHA’s Annual Rural Health Conference in San Diego.
The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals are based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance.
“We are incredibly proud of the efforts of our physicians, providers and staff from across the organization who’s hard work has lead to this designation,” said John McDonald, President and CEO of Peterson Health. “It reinforces that our dedication to high quality care, a team-centered culture, and patient experience is serving us and our community very well. Being the only one in Texas makes it even more special, and it honors the vision that Hal and Charlie Peterson had when establishing this hospital in 1949.”
“We are deeply honored and proud that Peterson has been named a top community hospital. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and clinical excellence of our entire team. This achievement confirms our mission and inspires us to continue innovating to provide exceptional care for every patient we serve,” said Mary Liz Eastland, Peterson’s Board of Directors Chair.
