Peterson Health Donates $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity to Support Doyle Community Flood Recovery
Kerrville, TX – Peterson Health announced a $100,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity to support flood recovery efforts in the Doyle Community, helping residents rebuild homes, restore stability, and move forward after the July flood.
“Peterson Health has been part of this community since 1949, and when Kerr County hurts, we hurt with it,” said John McDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer of Peterson Health. “The Doyle Community is an essential part of Kerrville, and this donation reflects our commitment to standing beside our neighbors as they recover, rebuild, and regain a sense of security after the flood.”
The contribution will be directed toward recovery and rebuilding assistance for Doyle residents impacted by flood damage. Funding will help Habitat for Humanity provide practical support such as home repairs, rebuilding materials, volunteer coordination, construction assistance, and other recovery needs identified in partnership with affected households. The partnership addresses immediate health and safety concerns, including structural damage, mold, plumbing and electrical issues, and code-related repairs, helping stabilize these homes as families move forward in the broader recovery process.
“This partnership gives us the opportunity to address critical needs for families in the Doyle community right away while helping prepare their homes for the recovery work ahead,” said Mary Campana, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Kerr County. “Peterson Health’s generous support made it possible for Habitat and the Doyle Community Center to identify eight families with significant needs and begin making their homes safer, healthier and more secure. It is a meaningful example of what can happen when local organizations come together to care for our neighbors.”
The Doyle Community has long been a historic and resilient neighborhood in Kerrville. In the wake of the most recent flood, local organizations, volunteers, and community leaders have worked together to assess needs, coordinate relief, and support residents through the recovery process.
