May 10, 2017

KERRVILLE – June is Men’s Health Month and Peterson Health joins other health care providers, public policy makers, and organizations in the effort to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of health issues relevant to men. For the sixth year in a row, Peterson Health will host a 2-hour educational session geared toward men, but open to both men and women interested in the hottest topics related to men’s health.

“The Men’s Event” will be held on Tuesday, June 27th, from 5:00-7:30pm at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) main classroom located at 260 Cully Drive in Kerrville. Physicians will be speaking and answering questions on important health topics and explaining how these topics impact men. A light meal will be provided at 5:30pm then presentations start at 6:00pm. Participants will enjoy each topic as they rotate through the schedule. Then 2017 presenters are as follows:

  • Dr. Ryan Veurink, Orthopedic Surgeon – Joint Health (Knee, Hip and Shoulder)
  • Dr. De Los Santos, Pulmonology – Trends in Sleep Medicine
  • Dr. Thomas Shaw, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – Managing Back Pain

Peterson Health is extremely grateful for the physicians who have donated their time and expertise to make this event possible.

Lisa Winters, Director of Marketing says that although the event was created with men in mind, a spouse, friend, or family member is also welcome to attend. Adds Winters, “Women have a great influence over the family’s healthcare. This annual event provides great information for both men and women interested in the latest trends in men’s health and ready to learn about the great services ad resources our area physicians have to offer.” The Men’s Event is free and includes a light diner and event souvenir. Registration opens at 4:30pm, and the dinner service starts at 5:00pm. Setting is limited, so pre-registration is required.
