From the 90s to Now: A Look Back at Peterson Health
The 90s looked a little different. Slower internet. Pagers instead of smartphones. A lot more scrunchies.
But one thing has not changed. Our commitment to caring for this community.
We asked members of our team what they were like in the 90s. Some were just starting their careers. Some were still in school. Others were still figuring out where life would take them. What they all share now is a purpose. Showing up every day to care for our patients, neighbors, and friends.
Growing with Our Community
Since opening our doors in 1949, Peterson Health has grown right alongside the Hill Country we serve. What started as a small community hospital has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare system, offering advanced services, leading technology, and specialized care close to home.
Over the years, we have expanded access to care, added new service lines, and continued investing in innovation. From diagnostic advancements to minimally invasive procedures, healthcare today looks very different than it did in the 90s. But every step forward has been guided by the same goal: meeting the needs of our community.
Advancing Care, Keeping Our Purpose
Healthcare has come a long way. Technology has advanced. Treatments have improved. The way we connect with patients continues to evolve.
But at the heart of it all, our mission remains the same. Providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient who walks through our doors.
For more than 75 years, Peterson Health has been here for this community. Built on a foundation of service, strengthened by innovation, and driven by people who truly care.
From then to now, we are proud of how far we have come. And even more proud to continue serving you.
