COVID-19 Daily Audio Update – 2/24/2021

Hello.  This is Pam Burton, Infection Prevention nurse for Peterson Health with your COVID 19 update.  This message was updated on Wednesday, February 24th.

Peterson Health continues to offer an online COVID-19 Vaccine Pre-Registration Site.  You may register through our website www.petersonhealth.com.  Once you are on the website please go to the top blue banner and click on the COVID-19 Vaccine Pre-Registration Sign-up link. Please remember to check out the New COVID-19 FAQs which is next to this audio message link.

The COVID-19 hotline is available to answering any questions you might have regarding COVID-19 testing. You may reach the COVID-19 hotline by calling (830) 896-4200, then select option 1, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm.

Our Kerrville Medical Plaza offers COVID-19 testing for persons NOT experiencing symptoms.  You may schedule an appointment by calling (830) 896-4200 option 1, Mon. thru Fri. from 0730 AM to 4 PM.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID19 which include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, diarrhea, and/or nausea and vomiting, please contact or visit Peterson Urgent Care on Junction Highway at 830-258-7669.  Urgent Care is open Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm and on weekends 8am to 4pm.

Please continue to practice healthy and safe habits that begin with hand hygiene and include the wearing of a mask when social distancing cannot be maintained, respiratory etiquette, and keep your environment clean. We believe all of these steps are key in maintaining or reducing the chances of continued COVID activity.

As of today, Peterson Health is reporting 7 new positive Kerr County cases, which brings our total to 2,461.  To date, Peterson has administered 18,315 tests.

At this time, there are 9 patients hospitalized at Peterson Regional Medical Center with COVID.

TDSHS is reporting one new death for Kerr County, which brings our death toll to 81.

The daily numbers are featured on the top section of our website homepage for review.  This audio message will be updated each weekday after 4:30 pm.
