Kerrville, TX – Did you know that according to national studies, at least 4 out of 5 child safety or booster seats, or approximately 90%, are installed incorrectly? The most common error is usually the harness being too loose, the child moved forward facing before the maximu, weight of the seat, a tether not correct, or a seat belt not tight enough. While parents aim to protext their children, often times it is simple correction or detection of a car seat now recalled, tht makes the difference. Nurses from Peterson Health Women’s Services care so deeply for kids that they have completed a certified training to assist with car seat installation. As part of a safety program hosted by Lowe’s Home Imprevement in Kerrville this Saturday, November 4th, Peterson will offer a car seat inspection from 10am to 2pm in the main parking lot.
Certified staff will be on hand to inspect car and booster seats and offer instruction on the proper installation. Participants can bring the safety seat currently in use. It is especially helpful to have the children riding in those car seats currently in use. It is especially helpful to have the children riding in those car seats for the inspection and generally takes staff 20-30 minutes to properly inspect and instruct participants on proper installation.
Anyone who transports children young enough to require the use of a car seat or booster is encouraged to attend. For more information on the event, contact The Baby Place at Peterson Health at (830) 258-7444
