Annual Flu Vaccination Clinic – September 13th

Kerrville, TX – Peterson Health and HEB will team up to host their annual Flu Shot Clinic in Kerrville, Wednesday, September 13th, from 10am to 6:00pm at the Hill Country Youth Events Center on Highway 27.

The traditional tri-valent flu shots are $12, cash or check (credit or debit cards cannot be accepted). Medicare will cover the cost of vaccination for those who qualify and HEB personnel will file for Part B participants, however, its critical for Medicare beneficiaries to bring their ‘Part B’ card. High dose flu shots for seniors 65 years of age and older are $65.00 if paying cash and the quadravalent vaccine for anyone 54 years and younger is available for $39.00. Volunteers and pharmacists will be on hand to help community members understand which vaccine is right for them.

Peterson Health is proud to partner with HEB cash September as flu season can start as early as October and can last into late spring. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most people who get the flu will recover in one to two weeks. But some individuals will develop potentially serious complications such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinus and ear infections. People over the age of 65, those with chronic medical conditions and residents in long-term care facilities are at higher risk for complications and should definitely receive a flu shot.

Children should be immunized. Those between the ages of 4-6 can be immunized at the community flu vaccinations clinic if parents bring a physician’s prescription for the vaccination. A parent or legal guardian must be present for young people between the ages of 4 and 18 to receive an injection.
